Recycling with ERMAFA

Machines and systems for sustainable recycling processes

Recycling is a central component of modern industrial and environmental strategies and is becoming increasingly important in light of growing sustainability requirements. ERMAFA develops and implements innovative machines and systems for efficient recycling and processing, thereby making an active contribution to the circular economy. We supply individually designed machine and plant concepts that are precisely tailored to our customers' materials, processes, and objectives. Our focus is on durable technology, high process stability, and sustainable use of resources—from individual machines to complex recycling plants.

At IFAT 2026, ERMAFA will showcase its expertise in recycling and plant engineering and demonstrate how customized machine solutions can efficiently and sustainably solve individual recycling challenges.

Our recycling expertise

ERMAFA provides comprehensive support for recycling projects—from the initial process concept to the turnkey plant. The focus is on efficiency, material quality, and operational safety. The modular design of our systems allows recycling processes to be scaled, expanded, and adapted to future requirements.

Recycling applications & materials

Our recycling plants are used in various areas of processing and recycling. The goal is always the economical recovery of high-quality secondary raw materials and their return to the production cycle.

Customized solutions for raw materials

Recycling processes vary considerably depending on the raw material, material properties, and target product. ERMAFA therefore does not develop standardized systems, but rather customized recycling solutions that are precisely tailored to the respective material, the desired throughput, and the product quality requirements.
Based on proven machine concepts, tailor-made solutions are created for a variety of recycling tasks – from the processing of solid materials to complex thermomechanical processes for liquid or viscous media.

Below you will find examples of recycling solutions from the ERMAFA portfolio.

Returning high-quality recycled material to the cycle

Reactruder

Recycling task:

Thermomechanical processing of almost all technical elastomers for material recycling

ERMAFA solution:

Avoiding waste that must be disposed of, which can instead be fed back into the production process. Depending on the process, up to 30% of new material can be replaced without any loss of quality.

Raw materials:

Rubber and elastomer materials, material mixtures with varying properties

Reactor ERMAFA Rubber Powder Recycling

Thermomechanical recycling technology for the targeted processing and modification of elastomers. The ERMAFA Reaktruder enables flexible, reliable solutions for demanding recycling applications.

Tire recycling

Recovery of high-quality secondary raw materials

Tire recycling

Recycling task:

Processing of used tires and rubber-containing materials to recover high-quality secondary raw materials

ERMAFA solution:

Individually designed recycling plants for the mechanical and thermomechanical processing of scrap tires, adapted to material composition, grain size, and target product

Raw materials:

Used tires (primarily truck tires)

Tire recycling plant Used tire recycling

Customized solutions for the efficient processing of scrap tires and rubber-containing materials. Automated plant for the recovery of high-quality secondary raw materials.

Special features

Efficient treatment of waste oils

X5 Waste oil recycling

Recycling task:

Treatment and recycling of waste oil and similar media

Solution:

The X5 waste oil recycling system is a specially developed solution for the efficient treatment and reprocessing of waste oils, adapted to different initial qualities.

Raw materials:

Waste oils, ship sludge, and fuel residues

waste oil recycling x5

Specialized recycling solution for the sustainable treatment and reuse of waste oils. The X5 system impresses with its high process stability, efficient use of resources, and robust design for industrial applications.

Special features

Safe treatment of hazardous waste

MACS – AUTOCLAVE

Safe Handling of Medical Waste

MACS – MACHINE AUTOCLAVE CUTTING STERILIZATION

Recycling task:

Reliably shred and sterilize solid and liquid medical waste, and reduce waste volume and disposal costs.

Solution:

Steam sterilization with a fractional pre-vacuum and integrated mechanical shredding—as a compact on-site solution or an industrial solution for larger volumes. After treatment, the result is sterilized wastewater and sterilized residual waste. Waste volume and disposal costs are significantly reduced.

User:

Hospitals, laboratories, and waste management companies.

macs autoclave Special machines

These autoclaves for treating contaminated waste provide enormous economic added value! Cross-contamination is eliminated through direct treatment on site—this is safe for people and the environment. In addition, there is no need for costly hazardous goods transport, which represents enormous CO² savings potential. Up to Safety Insurance Level SAL= 10 to the power of 48
